I took the last year or two off from my regular illustration/comic style because it had grown stale for me and I felt that I was just doing the same thing over and over again.
So, I took a sabbatical from my style and experimented with everything else I hadn't taken very seriously before (oil painting, landscape, figurative abstraction, etc.) as well as pursuing art history which, hopefully, made me at least think more seriously about the thematic substance of my art. So, sorry if this art journal seems to go from a lot of light, airy images to some more realistic paintings/drawings with actual content, I promise it won't go on forever.
After a break, I'm finally ready to re-enter the realm of illustration/comic art with a fresh perspective, excitement, but with a desire to keep honing both this and my representational art, so expect to see examples of both! I'm going to try and keep myself on my toes.
...I also promise to try to intersperse this "catch-up period" with some fun sketches about velociraptors, and of course, more vampires.
